Extinguishing Social Security?  Oh, And Happy Labor Day!  Oh, And Have A Reflective Niner Eleven Day! (September 7, 2026)

. . .

K        “The Kleptocrats have Social Security in their gun sights again.”

J          “Are you suggesting they ever were not in a ready, aim, fire mode?  Surely not the Kleptocrats.”

. . .

K          “Trump did something.  The Bodacious Bill did not actually eliminate federal income taxes on Social Security benefits.  However, it created a temporary additional deduction of up to $6,000 for taxpayers age 65 and older for tax years 2025–2028.”

J          “Although I don’t qualify, I believe the amount is $12,000 for qualifying married couples.  However, why not cut the amount potentially subject to taxation from the current maximum of 85 percent to 50 percent.  Or to 0 percent.  The only things that may be going to 0 percent are the payments and reimbursements in the future.”

. . .

K          “Is there a third rail or a red line or a breaking point in American politics that could rouse the rabble to action?  What will the populace do when the Kleptocrats further cut or eliminate Social Security and Medicare earned benefits?”

J          “Self-medicate.”
