World War E Becomes World War III:  The West Versus The Rest:  Uni-Polar Versus Multi-Polar (March 28, 2022)

Posted in Bideni, World War E on March 28, 2022 by e-commentary.org

. . .

K          “Biden’s profoundly unscripted and unguarded statement candidly represents American policy and effectively declared World War III.  That will have consequences.  Put me down as saying it is a bad idea.”

J          “Russia undertook an unprovoked attack on a sovereign nation.  Period.  That will have consequences.”

K          “Because the U.S. threatened its existence, Russia promulgated some very reasonable goals that translate into in a very Western alliterative ‘six-word memoir’ – ‘No NATO, No nukes, No Nazis’.  With no other diplomatic option or outlet, Russia undertook a special military operation with defined and disclosed objectives.  Documents evince that the Ukrainian Azov Boys intended to launch a blitzkrieg in March on the Donbass region bordering on and sympathetic to Russia.  The justification was and is well founded under international law.”

. . .

K          “The President, his Department of State, the Congress and the MSM by their words and actions have declared kinetic war on and with Russia.  The Pentagon may be the only institution that understands the consequences of war and is counseling caution.  The lads and lasses who may do the fighting realize that a no-fly zone will not fly.”

. . .

K          “Joe ‘Own Goal’ Biden is violating the first precept one must follow when stuck in a hole.  Quit digging.”

J          “He’s not helping.”

. . .

K          “His recent statements that seek regime change in Russia are improper, inflammatory, inappropriate and outside the bounds even for the United States that knows no bounds.  The principle of self-determination has been a bedrock of international law and norms for some time.”

J          “He’s not helping.  The strategy may be to have him make outlandish comments to rattle the world and then task a staffer to walk back the comments.  The strategy is admittedly sketchy.”

. . .

K          “America has a ‘Department of Offense’ on each side of the Potomac River.  Every time the Metro conductor announces: ‘Next stop . . . Foggy Bottom’, I may be the only one who smiles and realizes that it is the metonym to describe the Department of Offense built literally on a swamp in the D. of C.  America needs to build a cabinet-level ‘Department of Diplomacy’ and critically needs to establish an ‘Office of the Legal Advisor’ and hire the very few Americans who are ‘agreement-capable’ to bring America into the rules-based international community.”

As of this week, the nation-states in yellow have sanctioned Russia.  The nation-states in gray have not.  Nearly the entire Global South has not sanctioned Russia and is not likely to join the sanctions.  The majority of the Indo-Pacific nations are included in this group.  One eighth of the world by population is with the U.S.; seven eighths of the world is with Russia.

Pushitzer Prize In “Breaking News For 2020”, Nunc Pro Tunc (March 21, 2022)

The Pushitzer Prize in “Breaking News For 2020”, Nunc Pro Tunc, is awarded to Emma-Jo Morris and Gabrielle Fonrouge with the New York Post for the article “Smoking-gun email reveals how Hunter Biden introduced Ukrainian businessman to VP dad” dated October 14, 2020.

. . .

K          “In a decent country with courageous and honest individuals, the many self-styled intelligence experts who engaged in calculated misinformation and deception in 2020 designed to impact and influence the 2020 election would offer written apologies, but we do not seem to live in a decent country with courageous and honest individuals.  Some might argue that their statements and actions are treasonous.  Courageous and honest individuals now must ask why the NYT circled back to the truth at this late date.”

Let’s stop pretending that Ukraine is not one of the most corrupt countries in the world.

Russia has never satisfactorily explained why it located its country so close to NATO nuclear weapons and bio-warfare sites.

World War E Breeds Bretton Woods III;  BW II And The PetroDollar Will RIP? (March 14, 2022)

Posted in Bretton Woods, BRICS, CIPS, Petrodollar, PMC, SCO, SPFS, SWIFT on March 14, 2022 by e-commentary.org

. . .

K          “Sounds like a preppy.  Exorbitantly privileged.  His middle name is surely ‘Heathcliff’ or some such.”

J          “Soon to be wearing ‘BWH III’ cum serifs on his sleeve.  Very well bred.”

. . .

K          “Bretton Woods I was born on July 22, 1944 and died on August 15, 1971.  BW I was a modified Au [gold] standard that suspired for 27 years.  On a hot lazy Sunday in August in D.C. when the Ruling Class and the PMC were returning from the Shore, Nixon terminated convertibility of the U.S. dollar for gold with as much hype and fanfare as an announcement of the construction of a new water treatment plant.”

J          “I do not remember the event, yet I sense that the action was more of a unilateral breach without consulting other nations rather than a polite and proper termination of a long-term relationship and a statement that it is temporary.”

K          “Right.  Not to fear, BW II was hatched.  In the next few years, Nixon and others agreed to provide protection to Saudi Arabia in exchange for the Saudis pricing oil in the newly concocted ‘PetroDollar’ protection money.  The scheme allows the U.S. to conjure figment money at will and demand and take resources, services and products from every other country on the planet without providing anything in return other than . . . the figment money.”

J          “The U.S. spent three cents to print a 100 dollar bill and then demanded 100 dollars of things from other countries.  And latter saved the printing costs by just shuffling electrons.  It is a perpetual motion money machine, until it is not.”

K          “Resistance was futile.  The BW II system replaced an ‘Au system’ with a ‘Fe and Pb system’ that commits the iron and lead of the U.S. military to impose and enforce its will on others.  Over fifty years of international economic terrorism followed.  So few get it.”

J          “I hear you.  I get it.  I got it.  Years ago.  We as a society are going to get it.  In short order.  In the shorts.  My friends the good old Chinese are encouraging members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and the BRICS nations to bypass the SWIFT financial system and settle cross-border international payments in digital yuan using the CIPS or possibly SPFS.  That changes everything.”

K          “The ‘PetroDollar’ has had as much influence on civilization as the implementation of the wheel, the creation of the printing press and the discovery of electricity.  Yet, the ‘PetroDollar’ and BW II are dying a slow but accelerating death.  In a stupendous irony, U.S. stupidly killed BW II which had served it so well and has now spawned an uncertain BW III.”

J          “The U.S. actions are indeed killing the golden goose that did not require any gold to lay golden eggs.”

. . .

K          “The emerging BW III appears to be a mix of gold and commodities rather than printed figments.  The new economic system for the multipolar political world is founded on gold and commodities and headquartered and centered outside America and Western Europe.”

J          “We are substituting one empire that has done much evil for another far, far, far more evil empire without even a clue or a question about what is happening.  By the way, I have a few more Mandarin language tapes for you.”

. . .

K          “There are books on Cod and Salt and Paper and the like.  If he does not write the book on the PetroDollar, I may get it done.”

J          “And don’t forget the piece on fly fishing.”

Sanctions, Supply Chains And World War E (March 7, 2022)

Posted in Covid / Coronavirus, Inflation, Kleptocracy, Markets, Russia, Sanctions on March 7, 2022 by e-commentary.org

. . .

K          “Seems like ten years ago, not two years ago.”

J          “It was ten years ago.  Covid time.”

K          “In mid-February way back then, we were terrified that it was as virulent as a Hantavirus and more terrified that the rest of the public was oblivious to the threat.  The threats to the supply chains were obvious to only a few.”

. . .

K          “Two years ago they said that we needed two weeks to ‘flatten the curve’ but never said that they would take two years to ‘flatten the economy’ and transfer wealth to the wealthy and undermine small and independently owned businesses.”

J          “They launched ‘helicopter money’ that dropped a dollar to the plebs for every hundred thousand dollars delivered to the Kleptocrats.  What an experiment.  We as a society tried wage and price controls in 1971 and helicopter money in 2021-2022.  Inflation is no surprise; inflation is the consequence.”

. . .

K          “Biden and Putin agree.  Biden plans to boycott Russian oil and gas that is desperately needed in Germany and the West; Russia agrees not to provide the much needed oil and gas to Germany and the West.  As dad would say, Biden is cutting off Europe’s nose to spite Europe’s face and Putin is providing the scalpel.”

J          “Oil is life.  Turning off and turning down the oil wells will not turn out well.”

. . .

K          “Biden’s decision to cut off the Russian central bank’s access to most of its $630 billion of foreign reserves is a desperate and frightening move.  Once again, the United States weaponized the monetary system and issued a formal declaration of ‘World War E’ against Russia.  The rest of the world knows one truth – No one can trust the United States.  There is nothing more important or precious than trust.  Mark my words, there will be a new economic order that is fundamentally different than the current machinations.”

J          “I tell you, for those of us on the outside, the early tell is when the manipulated paper gold price results in few sellers of gold and then a huge chasm between the manipulated price and the actual selling price between a willing seller and a willing buyer.”

. . .

J          “Someone said that Russia holds 90% of the world’s neon that is critical for lasers and semiconductor manufacturing, 40% of palladium that is necessary for catalytic converters and 35% to 40% of Boeing’s titanium and over 50% of Airbus’s titanium.  And then there is platinum and there is aluminum and there is rhodium.”

K          “From what I read, Europe imports 28% of their oil and 40% of their natural gas from Russia.  The U.S. is not happy with that reality yet cannot meet the demand.  So the U.S. tells the Europeans to freeze.  In the dark.  That will play well in Potsdam.”

. . .

K          “The move from the factory to the farm is as disquieting.  In high school, they described the Ukraine as the breadbasket of what was then the USSR.”

J          “We always flow back to oil.  Oil is life; food is just oil reconstituted in another form.  Someone observed that Russia and Ukraine account for 30% of the global wheat trade, 20% of the corn, 80% of the sunflower-oil exports and 12% of all calories traded globally.  And they provide fertilizer to grow the products.  Without fertilizer, farmers will not plant.  The inescapable problem is that a car plant can be closed or opened at any time of the year, but a carrot must be planted at a specific time of the year governed by Gaia not by the government.  The times to plant have passed and are passing.  You cannot plant yesterday.”

. . .

K          “You reap what you sow.  We are not sowing.”

J          “We are so in trouble.”
